The southern Caribbean coast is reached by bus to El Rama and a speedboat down the river, or by the new road via Nueva Guinea. From Bluefields, pangas run to Pearl Lagoon and the boat to Corn Island.
Express buses from Mercado Mayoreo; the night ones (9 and 10 PM) connect with the dawn speedboats.
Fast boats down the Escondido river, about 2 hours, C$250–300, leaving when full from 5:30 AM.
Bus to Nueva Guinea and then a bus to Bluefields on the road opened in 2019 (4 hours), no boat needed.
Pangas from the municipal dock when full, from 6:00 AM, 1 h 30 and C$120–150. Few on Sundays.
